1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile information you choose to provide (display name, bio, avatar).

Brokerage Data

If you connect a brokerage account via SnapTrade, we access your portfolio holdings, trade history, and account performance in read-only mode. We never receive or store your brokerage login credentials.

Connecting a brokerage does not, by itself, make any of this data public. By default, every public-disclosure toggle in your account is set to off. Brokerage data we retrieve is stored privately and is only ever displayed to other users when you explicitly enable the matching visibility toggle in onboarding or your settings page (see Section 4 below).

Usage Data

We collect standard usage information including pages visited, features used, device type, and browser type to improve the Platform.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Providing and maintaining the Platform
  • Displaying verified trades and portfolio data to subscribers
  • Processing subscription payments
  • Sending account notifications and updates
  • Improving the Platform and developing new features
  • Preventing fraud and abuse

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Sharing

We share data only in these circumstances:

  • SnapTrade: Brokerage connection and data retrieval
  • Supabase: Database and authentication infrastructure
  • Vercel: Application hosting and deployment
  • Stripe: Subscription billing and creator payouts. Payment-card details are handled directly by Stripe — we never store full card numbers.
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery (sign-in, confirmation, and account notifications)
  • Cloudflare: Bot and abuse protection (Turnstile) on sign-up and sign-in
  • Sentry: Error monitoring and performance diagnostics, which may capture limited usage data to debug issues
  • Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

4. Data Visibility & Your Privacy Controls

Default state: private. You control every public-facing toggle.

Piggyback is a streaming platform, but what is "streamed" from your account is entirely up to you. When you create an account, every toggle that controls public visibility of your portfolio value, position count, year-to-date return, individual positions, and trade history is set to off. None of this data is shown to public visitors, other users, or paid subscribers until you explicitly turn the corresponding toggle on.

You are responsible for:

  • Reviewing your privacy settings before connecting a brokerage and before publishing any content.
  • Periodically auditing your settings to confirm they reflect your current intent.
  • Understanding that enabling any toggle exposes the corresponding data to the audience indicated (public, subscribers, or both).
  • Using the "Hide everything" control in settings if you need to immediately revoke public visibility.

We log every change to your privacy settings (timestamp, prior value, new value, originating user agent and IP address). This audit trail exists to resolve any later dispute about who changed a setting and when.

Piggyback provides these privacy controls as a feature on a best-effort basis. We cannot and do not warrant that bugs, infrastructure failures, race conditions, caching anomalies, or third-party outages (including but not limited to SnapTrade, Supabase, Vercel, or Stripe) will never result in unintended display of your data. By using the Platform you accept this inherent risk. Your sole remedy in the event of unintended disclosure is the limited remedy described in our Terms of Service.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level security policies, and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Trade and portfolio data is retained to maintain historical records for subscribers. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use analytics cookies to understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of marketing communications

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@piggyback.trade.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notification.
